What to Expect After Booking Your Appointment
When an initial intake appointment is booked with APA of Oklahoma: Expect a structured process designed to understand your needs and concerns.
Before the day of the appointment: You will receive an email with the preliminary paperwork to download, print and complete. Bringing this paperwork to the intake appointment will expedite the intake process of gathering essential background information.
During the initial intake session: You or, you and your child, will meet with Dr. Pitt who will conduct a thorough intake assessment through a detailed interview. The initial conversation will cover current challenges, background history, and any specific issues the assessment should address. The initial intake session lasts approximately 60-90 minutes.
If the initial appointment is for a child, Dr. Pitt will first meet with the adult who brought the child to gather the background information and then meet with the child.
Following the initial intake session: Dr. Pitt will review the intake information, formulate an assessment plan, and contact her assessment team to schedule an appointment for a psychological assessment.
During the assessment appointment: Standardized questionnaires will be completed to create a comprehensive mental health profile. Assessment appointments last anywhere from three to five hours dependent on the assessment type. Once Dr. Pitt has reviewed and completed all the assessment materials, she will schedule a feedback session to review diagnostic conclusions. The completed psychological assessment report will be sent via mail, email or fax, once the evaluation results have been reviewed.
